Abstract
The heart of the laser direction determination system is the position-sensitive detector (PSD) which is capable of detecting the centroid position of a light spot projected on its surface, this can be quadrant detector (QD).Laser spot position determination circuit consists of a pre-amplifier stage, a post amplifier, and an analogue to digital converter. Therefore, in this paper, the spot position determination circuit was implemented using Easy EDA software, and the circuit hardware is realized using discrete components on one card which is successfully simulated using Proteus ISIS software then connected to a micro-controller which uses Atmel Studio software for control coding that performs the calculations to accurately predict the correct position of the laser beam. The system is tested and measuring the outputs of each stage and finally the position and direction of laser by moving servo motor toward the incident laser reflected from the target. These circuits can be applied in laser tracking system applications
